Tutorials
Hands-on lessons. Each one starts from nothing and ends with something working.
Tutorials are for learning. Follow them in order, run every command, and look at what each step prints. They explain only as much as you need along the way; for the reasoning, see Concepts.
- Your first cetrafs volume builds the module and tools, creates a volume on a loop device, mounts it, looks inside, and checks it with
fsck. You need one Linux host and no special storage. - A two-node cluster on a shared LUN mounts one LUN on two hosts and shows the cluster at work: node registration, Zone Group ownership, the cross-node file lock, and failover.
- Build a Proxmox VE shared datastore puts VM disks on cetrafs across a Proxmox cluster and live-migrates a running VM.
Your first cetrafs volume
Build cetrafs, create a volume on a loop device, mount it, look inside, and check it with fsck. Needs one Linux host and about 15 minutes.
A two-node cluster on a shared LUN
Mount one LUN on two hosts and watch cetrafs coordinate them: registration, Zone Group ownership, the cross-node file lock, and recovery from a crashed node.
Build a Proxmox VE shared datastore
Put VM disk images on one shared LUN mounted by every node of a Proxmox VE cluster, then live-migrate a running VM.
